Essay: ‘Do not go gentle into that good night’ and ‘Around the World in 80 days’

Poem
1.Relevance of the title
The titles meaning is that you must not die without a fight. It tells a lot about this poem because the whole poem goes about dying. without having a fight with death you die too quick, you need to keep fighting against death. Death will always catch, every person, but without having a fight with death it will just take you.
7. Favorite passage
‘Rage, rage against the dying of the light’ is my favorite passage because it tells you that you need to keep fighting against death. Death is very strong it takes away a lot of innocent people from us. The only way to win from death is to be stronger than death. So you need to keep fighting against dead. When you do not fight it is too late already and death catches you. This passage tells so much because a lot of people do not fight until the last minutes and then it is too late already but when you keep fighting it takes longer before death catches.

Book ‘around the world in 80 days’ (304 pages)
1.relevance of the title
I think this title fits perfectly with this book because the whole book turns around the trip Phileas Fogg and his companion Passepartout make. Phileas and Paspartout make an trip around the world in 80 days, wich has never been done before, because Phileas made an bet that people did not thought someone like Phileas could do that

2.letter to author
Dear Mr. Jules Verne
I liked your book ‘around the world in 80 days’. Your book had good details about the characters. You described them very well. I could really imagine how they looked like. I especially like the like the parts when it was suspenseful like the cliffhangers and climaxes. When you wrote, ‘having made it around the world in 80 days he was just 5 minutes too late, he had lost the bet’. That was for me the best cliffhanger of the whole story. This made the end of the chapter have a great suspense. The book that you wrote had places in it where I never even taught they existed. Also the different ways of transportation I liked like the hot air balloons, the elephant or the boats. I do not read a lot of books but this is the first long book I found really interesting and fun. I think it is the best book I have read so far. I am going to read all off your other books you wrote.
Sincerely,
Marijn Greven

People need to buy the book around the world in 80 days because it is a interesting book to read. Every aspect a book needs to have is in it. It is romantic, it has action in it, it has an funny twist to it and it is adventurous. You get to learn the characters pretty good and will follow them around the whole book. It has a lot of crazy and interesting aspects in it. It says how the people taught in that time and how they reacted on things that were different. The main character says a lot about the inventors in that time so buy the book.

5.letter to character
Hello Phileas Fogg,
I think you are a real dare devil because you took the risk of losing everything you had by going on this trip around the world in eighty days but in the end you came back with more. It was the nicest thing to read about your adventures around the world and the friends you have made. do you also think Mr. Fix was really dumb by putting you in jail while you actually did nothing. You just are a very nice and honest guy. But you still got arrested I think the people in England sended him so you would lose the bet but you won so now they are mad and you are happy. Do you also think that Passepartout should have told you he went to Japan. I think it is rude he did not. The best thing he could have done is telling you because he is your friend. Go on with inventing stuff and have a happy life further with Aouda.
Sincerely,
Marijn Greven

7.favorite passage
‘Anything one man can imagine another man can make real’ is my favorite passage because it says something about the things people can imagine and what people can reach. Some People think of things no person can think off and other people try to reach those things. In this book no one ever taught someone could make a trip around the world in just 80 days only Phileas could imagine that he tried his best and finally he made it. I think that’s something most people do not try to think out of the box but the people who can make a great change to today’s living

The journey around the world in the challenged eighty days is the theme of the book and is connected to the main character, Phileas Fogg. Fogg is extremely excited to take up this challenge, as he believes that someone who is precise and efficient can succeed. So he takes up the task and starts a hurried journey around the world. He has many ups and downs in this trip.
